"Change Me," Says Gere

SEATTLE - Getty Images Inc. and actor Richard Gere have launched a campaign to use images to fight some of the world's deadliest diseases.

Called the "Change Me" campaign and created by the two, plus a group called the Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, it is a forum for people to use powerful images to share their thoughts on "how to make the world a better place," according to a company announcement.

People are encouraged to go to the campaign's website, www.gettyimages.com/changeme, and describe how they feel the images can change perceptions. For each visit, Getty Images will contribute $10 to the effort.
