BIO: BRYAN CORLISS

Washington native Bryan Corliss has almost two decades' experience writing about his home state, having worked for the Daily Herald of Everett, the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin and the Moscow-Pullman Daily News before joining Washington CEO as a senior writer in 2007.

In western Washington, his coverage of the Boeing Co. was twice honored with national Best in Business awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. He also has won the Society of Professional Journalists' top national honor - a Sigma Delta Chi Award for Public Service - for reporting on land-use conflicts east of the mountains.

While most of his economic training has been on the job, Corliss does have academic credentials. He studied both business and journalism as a Knight-Bagehot fellow at Columbia University, receiving both a master's degree in journalism and a professional certificate in business and economics reporting. Corliss also has a bachelor's degree, with honors, from Washington State University's Murrow School of Communications.
